Terms of Service

1. Who we are

PlayLuni ("we", "us") is operated by Registered Israeli Business No. 040340432, doing business as PlayLuni. You can reach us at hello@playluni.com.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use PlayLuni.

2. What the service does

PlayLuni lets a parent or guardian create personalised audio bedtime stories for their children. Stories are generated using AI, narrated with synthetic speech, and played back inside the app. We also provide a library of pre-made classic stories.

Stories you create are shared with the PlayLuni community by default, which means other families can find and listen to them. Every story has a switch to make it private to your family instead — on the story's own page, and in the studio as soon as it finishes generating. You can change it at any time, as often as you like.

3. Who may use it, and children's details

Accounts are for adults only. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. The service is designed for a parent or guardian to operate on a child's behalf — children should not create accounts or make purchases. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login details secure.

When you create a child profile you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, and you consent to us using the details you enter — a first name, an age, interests, things to avoid — to generate and personalise stories for them. That is the only thing those details are used for. We do not knowingly collect any information directly from a child, and children do not interact with the app's account or purchase features. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored and for how long.

4. Plans, stars and what you get

Creating a story consumes stars. Listening to stories you have already made, and to the classics library, is free and never consumes stars.

• Free: listening only, one child profile, no stars included.
• Subscriptions: a monthly allowance of stars — 60, 120 or 240 depending on the plan — and unlimited child profiles.
• Star Pack (one-off): 120 additional stars. Purchased stars never expire and are not subject to any balance cap.

Subscription stars are granted monthly and carry over for a limited time that depends on your plan — up to 60 days beyond the month they were granted, after which unused subscription stars expire. Your plan's exact allowance, rollover and balance cap are shown on the plans screen before you buy and while you are subscribed.

When you create a story, subscription stars are always spent before any Star Pack stars you hold. This is deliberate: subscription stars expire and purchased stars do not, so spending them in that order means you lose the least.

A full audio story costs 10 stars; re-rendering an existing story costs 5; weaving a child's name into an existing story costs 3. Editing text before generating is free. We may change these amounts for future purchases, but never retroactively for stars you already hold.

5. Payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, LLC (a Stripe company). Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns. We never see or store your card details, and Lemon Squeezy is the name that will appear on your statement.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until cancelled. Prices are shown before purchase and may vary by country; applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your profile. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details of what happens to your access, your stories and your stars.

7. Your content and ours

You keep the rights to the details you supply — your child's name, the characters and ideas you provide. You are granted a personal, non-commercial licence to use the stories and audio PlayLuni generates for you.

What you can put in. Please do not build prompts around characters, franchises or real people whose rights you do not hold. Ask for a brave little dragon rather than a named one from a film. This is about what you type into PlayLuni; our own classics library is drawn from traditional and public-domain stories and is a separate matter.

What you can do with the result. Play it at home, keep it, and share it privately — a family group chat, a grandparent, a babysitter. What the licence does not cover is broadcasting or publishing the audio publicly, selling it or otherwise making money from it, or using it as training data for another AI system.

The app itself, the classics library, the voices and the software remain ours.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use PlayLuni to create content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise unsuitable for children; to impersonate a real person or imitate their voice without their permission; or to attempt to bypass the service's limits and safeguards. We may suspend an account that does.

9. AI-generated content

Stories are written and narrated by AI. That means generation is probabilistic: the same request will not produce the same story twice, and although every story is filtered against safety guidance written for young listeners, we cannot promise that each one will be free of errors, factually accurate, or exactly what you pictured.

You know your child; we do not. You decide what is right for them, and you can preview any story before playing it. If something unsuitable does reach you, tell us at hello@playluni.com — we will look into it, and we would much rather hear about it than not.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep PlayLuni available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. PlayLuni is a developing product: we may add, change or withdraw features, and we do not promise to store your generated audio indefinitely. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan provides, we will tell subscribers in advance.

11. Ending your account, and what happens to your stories

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may also suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will explain why where we are able to.

Deletion is permanent and immediate. Deleting your account removes your account, your child profiles, your stories and the audio files behind them, along with any voice recordings you made and any voice model built from them. This cannot be undone, and there is no way for us to restore a story afterwards — so if a particular story matters to you, tell us before you delete rather than after.

One exception: a story that is shared with the community may remain available to other families after your account is gone. Anything you have set to private is deleted with everything else. If you want a shared story taken down too, set it to private before you delete your account, or tell us and we will remove it.

12. Your responsibility for what you create

If someone brings a claim against us because of what you put into PlayLuni or what you did with what came out — a rights holder objecting to a character you asked for, say, or a use of the audio that section 7 does not permit — you agree to cover the resulting claims, damages and reasonable legal costs. This applies to your own use of the service and not to anything we got wrong ourselves.

13. Liability

PlayLuni is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and none of it affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will notify account holders of material changes before they take effect.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Israel. Any dispute arising under them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Central District, Israel. None of this affects mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence, including any right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Billing, invoices and refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Once you have an active subscription, your payments and receipts appear on your subscription screen in the app; we can also send a receipt on request.
